Does God Really Love Me Regardless of What I've Done?

Have you ever asked yourself this question?

I know I have. I’ve said, done, and even thought things that were far from godly. And once conviction kicked in, I couldn’t help but wonder: Did I just put a wedge between me and the Lord?

Because let’s be honest— in most relationships, words and actions carry weight. As a wife, I can’t just say or do whatever I want (well, I can, but that doesn’t mean I should) without it affecting the love and trust in my marriage. As a mom, I can’t act in ways that don’t reflect the love I have for my children. And when I mess up— and I do mess up— it can create distance. A little wedge. And if I don’t address it, that little wedge can grow into a gap.

And guess who just loves to slide into those gaps?

Yep...the enemy! The devil doesn’t need a wide-open door— just a little crack to sneak into.

But here’s the beautiful truth I’ve uncovered (or maybe I should say re-discovered): God’s grace is bigger than our gaps. His love is stronger than our mistakes. His heart is set on us even when ours might be wandering.

Romans 5:8 reminds us:

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Still sinners, ladies! Not perfected. Not polished. Not put-together. Just...plain ole’ sinners. And He still loved us enough to die for us. If that doesn’t answer the question, “Does God love me regardless of what I’ve done?” then I don’t know what will!

But just in case you’re still not convinced, let’s look at Romans 8:38–39:

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Not one thing, not your past, not your mistakes, not even your worst moment— can separate you (pull you away) from God’s love.

So if you’re ever wondering if God still loves you after all you’ve done, said or thought— wonder no more.

His love is steady. His love is strong. And His love is YOURS.
